At Flyin’Surf, we are used to high-adrenaline sports, but nothing quite matches the electric energy of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles crossing the finish line. The morning of the arrival was one for the books. As we were setting up the school for the day’s first lessons, we heard the first radio reports that the “Gazelles” were approaching the final checkpoint. We paused the gear prep, gathered the crew, and headed out from the school onto the damp morning sand to witness the legendary arrival. These incredible women navigate the Moroccan desert using only a compass and a map—no GPS allowed. As we stood on the Essaouira shoreline in the crisp morning light, we saw the first 4x4s and crossovers cresting the dunes.
